Meta Letter 12 – A Whole New Workflow

📅 28 May 2021

Hey! ? Welcome back to another issue of The Meta Letter. This month I haven’t been producing much content, but instead have been focussing on improving my writing workflow. Both for my blog posts and these newsletters.

This is the first issue using my new writing workflow, so you may notice things look a little different (hopefully in a good way). If you see anything wrong, or if you have any feedback, please do reply to this email to let me know.

Ok, enough pre-waffle. Let’s jump into issue 12 of The Meta Letter…

📝 From my blog

As I said in the intro, I haven’t really been writing much this month, but here’s the latest from my blog:

As well as the new workflow, I’ve also re-introduced the notes section of my blog. Notes, if you don’t know, tend to be shorter updates and opinions that don’t usually go into as much detail as regular posts.

Because they have less rigger around them, I think I’m likely to produce more notes than standard posts. But we will see.

Notes will be displayed in my main RSS feed, but if you prefer to see notes on their own, there’s a separate feed for them too.

Check out my notes

The last thing I’ve been doing on my website is updating a few of the pages. I’ve reduced the waffle on my homepage and completely re-written the about page too. Check them out if you want to know a little more about me!

🧐 Meta Picks

Since I haven’t been writing much this month, I’ve had a lot more time for Internet faffery. Which means I’ve found a couple of gems dotted around the web.

I’ll only list a few this month as I don’t want to peak too soon and spoil you!

Stumbled - The greatest sites of the Internet
Stumbled is a collection of the greatest, most interesting and weird Sites of the Internet.

💭 Meta Thought

I think that will about do it for this month’s issue. What do you think about the new layout? Is it working for you, or would you prefer something a little simpler? Please do reply and let me know.

Also, with this new workflow, writing newsletters is now super easy. So I’m thinking about increasing the cadence of The Meta Letter to bi-weekly; so every other Friday.

What do you think? Would you prefer a bi-weekly Meta Letter? Please do let me know.

As is customary, I will leave you with a very deep and meaningful quote…

We laugh at dogs getting excited when they hear a bark on TV, but if TV was a non-stop stream of unintelligible noises and then someone suddenly spoke to you in your language, you’d be pretty startled too!

I hope to hear back from you about the bi-weekly issues and your thoughts on the new layout. But if not, I’ll see you the next time invade your inbox!

Kev, out.
